Throughout the program, you'll work alongside experienced mill operators and trainers, learning essential techniques and best practices to ensure efficient milling operations. You'll develop a strong understanding of the machinery, processes, and safety protocols critical to feed production, all within an active feed mill environment.

This program offers exploration of feed milling, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. Here is a summary of what you’ll experience:

• Nutrient Requirements – Discover where to find the nutrient requirements for different types of animal feed and create your own list of raw materials.
• Feed Mill Introduction – Visit the feed mill, explore the feed production process, and learn about grinding and mixing feeds.
• Capacity Calculation – Learn how to calculate production quantities, optimize efficiency, and time grinding and mixing processes.
• Raw Materials and Nutrient Supplementation – Understand the nutrients supplied by raw materials and their minimum and maximum intake levels.
• Raw Material Quality – Explore how to assess the quality of incoming raw materials through sensory evaluation.
• Economics of your feed mill – Learn about the variable costs associated with raw materials and feed formulation resulting in the cost price.
• Feed Formulation – Step-by-step feed formulation, including the use of Excel for formulating feeds.
• Feed Production and Pelleting – Gain hands-on experience in feed production, including pelleting.
• Importance of Particle Size – Understand how particle size affects feed quality and how to grind materials at different speeds.
• Handheld NIR – Discover how the handheld Near-Infrared (NIR) system works, along with its benefits and costs.
• GMP+ Certification – Understand the GMP+ certification and its requirements for quality assurance in feed production.

The costs are € 3,450.00 (excl. VAT). Included in the price are:
