Enhance your knowledge of horse hoof anatomy, hoof diseases, advanced trimming, shoeing, and forging techniques. Are you a farrier who learned the trade as an apprentice but feels the need to deepen your understanding of hoof anatomy and refine your trimming, shoeing, and forging skills? Our modern forge provides the perfect environment to practice forging both regular and specialized horseshoes and applying them effectively to horse hooves.

This course is designed for farriers who want to expand their knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the principles behind their craft.

NB. There are no scholarships available.

Curriculum
- Expert-led modules covering the anatomy of the horse’s foot, hoof diseases, ligament and tendon issues in the horse’s leg, and hoof care for foals and young horses.
- Hands-on experience in trimming and shoeing techniques on specimen hooves and live horses.
- Practical forging of both regular and specialized horseshoes, using bar stock and factory-made shoes.

At Aeres Hippisch Centrum (Aeres Equestrian Center) you will find our 30 well-trained school horses, 58 riding tracks and 1 large outdoor riding track, a galloping track, covered lunging circle and training mill. You can also find a large farrier's shop for farrier students.
